About the BWS Author

I am passionate about food…savory and sweet. Sharing great food is one of my favorite forms of communication. Also, I enjoy learning about and tasting food from various cultures, as well as sharing my knowledge and skills with others. I am on a journey to balance my consumption of nourishing savory food with my penchant for sweet treats, carbohydrates, and dairy.

Although enjoying food is a primary passion, it was not my primary educational or career pursuit. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark Atlanta University. The deaths of a family member and a couple of mentors changed some perspectives about life: I realized that the pursuit of passion was equally as important as the pursuit of lofty goals. A few years later, I graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Baking & Pastry Arts degree from Johnson & Wales University. After graduation, I worked with amazing professionals at The Greenbrier, the Ritz-Carlton Charlotte, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

When I am not cooking or baking, I enjoy watching cooking (and cooking competition) tv shows, Perry Mason re-runs, documentaries, and the Olympics®. Sharing hugs and laughter with my family & friends are among my life’s greatest delights. Other hobbies include road trips, reading, and relaxation near water, as well as wrestling with a fitness journey constituting a series of ongoing ‘fits-and-starts’. I have visited London, the Bahamas, and several U.S. states, as well as driven across America.

Thank you for sharing this eating style transformation journey. I am humbled and honored that you chose to do so.
